Now Offering Teletherapy and Tips for Managing COVID-19 Related Stress

How are you? Stressed? Overwhelmed? Anxious?

These have been the answers to this question lately. COVID-19 is an unprecedented event happening in our society. It has already drastically changed the way many of us live day to day and has created unease about our physical health and safety as well as our financial security.

Now more than ever we need one another. We need support and we need to talk about what is happening in our lives.

The staff of Fancher Psychology is now offering secure HIPPA-compliant teletherapy.

It is confidential, just like in-office visits, and allows people to access mental health care and treatment from anywhere. Socially distancing does not have to mean isolation! We're here to help!

Here are a few tips to help you manage the stress of COVID-19 now:

  • Keep a routine

It doesn't have to be a super structured schedule, but research has shown that keeping a routine to your days is helpful. Go to sleep and wake up around the same time each day. Feed yourself well.

  • Get outside

Go for a walk, enjoy the sunshine. Nature helps!

  • Stay in touch with loved ones

Social isolation can wreak havoc on humans. Even though we're social distancing we need to stay connected.

  • Limit social media and news consumption

Set some boundaries with yourself around how often you check news sites. Stay informed, but also step away, especially if you notice increased feelings of anxiety after scrolling.

  • Meditate, Breathe, Move

Manage the stress and tension in your mind and body through effective tools such as breath work, meditation and yoga. Headspace is an awesome app offering some of these tools (they offer a free trial too!)
