Young Adult Therapy
What is Young Adult Therapy?
The transition from childhood to adulthood can be daunting and overwhelming.
This phase is one of constant change. You’re transitioning from high-school to college or work. You’re learning to understand budgets, finances, and making the ends meet. Your friendships are in flux as people take their chosen paths, and you leave the nest. You’re often on your own for the first time and many new stressors emerge. Young adulthood is a stage of life when many mental health struggles emerge for the first time.
Going this alone might make the world feel a little extra heavy. But having someone with whom to work through these challenges and learn effective coping strategies can make a world of difference.
That’s where we come in.
Young Adult Therapy FAQs
-
For us, it’s about the phase of life you’re in as much as your age. Young adult therapy is focused on the challenges and developmental milestones unique to this stage of life, with the years between approximately 18-29.
-
Absolutely not — it’s a lot more about your phase of life. The best way to know what’s going to be right for you will be to join us for an initial consultation. This is where we understand more about where you are at and what kind of service you’ll need.
-
Not really. Therapy is more of a collaborative process between you and your therapist. It’s based on research and theory and designed specifically for what you need it to be. Our jobs are to be here to hear you and help you work through problems together.
-
Some people start therapy subsequent to a significant life stressor or trauma, but many start because they’re just not feeling happy, satisfied or well and might not be able to pinpoint why. Either reason is completely appropriate to begin therapy.
-
There are many options for therapy, many of which are covered by insurance plans.
The best way to know is to schedule a consultation with us, and we can talk through the options.
